Exotic leathers are often used on belts and holsters for their beauty and rarity, but many of them also provide better wear resistance than cowhide. We go the extra mile to make sure all of our exotic leathers are obtained legally and ethically. Due to restrictive laws, we do not sell or ship any products made with the following materials to the state of California: kangaroo, cobra, python or elephant.
Probably our most popular exotic leather, elephant hide is known for its durability and attractiveness. The unique wrinkle patterns from the neck, knee, ears and trunk make beautiful holsters and belts that are very resistant to wear and abrasions. We stock several colors and patterns of genuine elephant hide for you to choose from.
The distinct rippled texture of shark skin is instantly recognizable. Shark skin is not only beautiful, but also extremely tough and long lasting. Additionally, there is just something poetic about wearing the skin of a deadly predator on a defensive holster. We have many colors to choose from, and we are happy to get what you need if we don’t have it in stock.
Ostrich quill is a fantastic hide to use on our hybrid construction holsters. Normally ostrich leather is durable but very soft and supple, so we tend not to recommend it on most leather holster applications. By combining it with a stiff polymer core, you have the perfect combination of attractiveness and rigidity. Check out how many colors we have to offer and let us know if there is something specific you are looking for.
The unique plating on the front of an ostrich leg makes a very attractive and rugged holster. Due to the size of ostrich legs, it is typically reserved for smaller holsters or accents. Ostrich leg is available in many colors. Contact us if you don’t see what you want below.
There are several other exotic skins we have used with varying availability. If we don’t have it in stock we will be happy to price it for you. Other popular exotic skins include:
- American Bison
- Beaver Tail
- Cape Buffalo
- Ring Lizard
- Savannah Monitor Lizard
- Teju Lizard
